Yennenga Coproduction is a program dedicated to fiction and documentary feature film projects seeking financial partners.
It aims to encourage and support African and diaspora film coproductions, promote their international distribution, and foster the development of Africa’s film talents.
The purpose of these regulations is to define the conditions for the organization, operation, and participation of film and audiovisual professionals in the Yennenga Coproduction workshop.
Yennenga Coproduction will be held from February 28 to March 5, 2027.
Admission to Yennenga Coproduction implies full acceptance of these regulations.
Project eligibility requirements:
- the call is open to fiction feature film and feature documentary projects in production;
- the project must be led by an author/director and/or a producer who is a citizen of an African country or a member of its diaspora;
Composition of the application file
Any applicant to the Yennenga Coproduction workshop must provide:
- a photo of the director (JPEG format, 300 dpi);
- photos and a visual of the film (portrait and landscape, JPEG format, 300 dpi);
- an agreement letter between the director and the production company;
- a motivation letter specifying the producer’s needs and expectations;

NB: Only complete applications will be submitted to the selection committee.
A committee, chaired by the Director General of the Burkinabe Agency for Cinema and Audiovisual Media (ABCA), is responsible for selecting projects. The committee’s decision is final and irrevocable.
The selection committee is sovereign and reserves the right not to justify its choices.
The selection results will be published on the ABCA and FESPACO websites.
Selection for the Yennenga Coproduction workshop entitles the participant to coverage of:
- national and international transportation costs for the producer or director from their place of residence to Ouagadougou;
- living expenses (accommodation and meals) in Ouagadougou;
- FESPACO accreditation for the director or producer;
- participation by the director or producer in the activities offered by Yennenga Coproduction.
Participation in the Yennenga Coproduction workshop implies full acceptance of these regulations.
Selected projects must:
- include the mention “This film received support from FESPACO/Yennenga Coproduction” in their credits, accompanied by the official Yennenga Coproduction laurel;
- display the official FESPACO logo on all communication materials;

Winning Yennenga Coproduction projects receive in-kind or cash awards for the completion of their projects.
The amount or type of support is determined according to each partner’s level of assistance.
The Director General of ABCA has jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the interpretation and application of the clauses of these regulations.
Amicable settlement remains the preferred means of resolving any dispute.
Only the French version of these regulations is legally authoritative.
All matters not provided for in these regulations fall under the authority of the Director General of ABCA.
