Yennenga Post-Production is a bridge that fosters coproduction partnerships and access to the international market for African works by offering an opportunity to present films still in production to film professionals and international distributors, in order to support the completion of these works through concrete assistance.
The purpose of these regulations is to define the conditions for the organization, operation, and participation of film and audiovisual professionals in the Yennenga Post-Production workshop.
Yennenga Post-Production will be held from February 28 to March 5, 2027.
Film eligibility requirements:
- all submitted works must be films in the completion stage, made exclusively by filmmakers who are nationals of an African country;
- only fiction feature films and documentaries (minimum duration: 60 minutes) will be considered;
- filmmakers submitting projects must be working on their first or second feature film project;
- a director may participate in Yennenga Post-Production with only one project;
- a producer may participate in Yennenga Post-Production with only two projects;
- an agreement letter must be signed between the director and the production company;
- if the language of the film is neither French nor English, the submitted copy must be subtitled in one of these languages.
Composition of the file
Any applicant to Yennenga Post-Production must provide:
- a photo of the director (JPEG format, 300 dpi);
- a motivation letter from the director and producer specifying the film’s post-production needs and expectations;
- the overall budget of the film, indicating the amount to be raised for its completion;
- the viewing link and access password, valid until March 31, 2027.

A committee, led by the Director General of the Burkinabe Agency for Cinema and Audiovisual Media (ABCA), is responsible for selecting the films. The committee’s decision is final and irrevocable.
The selection committee reserves the right to select or not select any project or film in post-production submitted to it.
The selection results will be published on the ABCA and FESPACO websites.
Yennenga Post-Production undertakes to:
– cover transportation, accommodation, and meal expenses for participants during their stay in Ouagadougou;
– provide targeted and personalized support to each film.
The authors of selected films will receive a commitment form, which must be completed and returned.
Receipt by the Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) of the completed and signed form implies acceptance to be present and available for all program activities. Acceptance is considered final and binding.
Representatives of invited films must send, within the required deadlines, all requested information and materials needed to prepare the Yennenga Post-Production workshop brochure and to organize consultations and screenings.
Yennenga Post-Production workshop awards
Winning Yennenga Post-Production films receive in-kind or cash awards for the finalization of their projects.
The amount or type of support is determined according to each partner’s level of assistance.
Award-winning films must mention in their credits and on all communication materials the official FESPACO logo with the statement “This film received support from FESPACO/Yennenga Post-Production”.
All selected non-award-winning films must mention in their credits and on all communication materials the official FESPACO logo with the statement “This film participated in FESPACO/Yennenga Post-Production”.
Depending on their needs, project holders of films in post-production may benefit from editing consultations, advice and guidance on visual design and finishing choices for the film, as well as advice on international distribution.
Screening sessions of film excerpts will be organized.
After these screenings, time will be devoted to the presentation of projects by the directors before a jury.
Only accredited professionals will be authorized to attend the screenings.
The jury is composed of recognized professionals from cinema, audiovisual media, and culture. It is sovereign in its choices.
Participation in Yennenga Post-Production implies acceptance of these regulations.
The Director General of ABCA has jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the interpretation and application of the clauses of these regulations.
Amicable settlement remains the preferred means of resolving any dispute.
Only the French version of these regulations is legally authoritative.
All matters not provided for in these regulations fall under the authority of the Director General of ABCA.
